Horizon Methodist Church
Horizon is part of The North East Somerset and Bath Methodist Circuit which was launched on Sunday 31st August 2008. The circuit was created by combining most of the former Midsomer Norton circuit, with the Bath circuit, and the Methodist Church in Keynsham.
Our Circuit is in turn part of The Bristol District, made up of 10
circuits in 5 county areas Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Bristol and the edge of Oxfordshire.
As Methodists, as well as belonging to our local churches, we are part of a larger connected
community, the British Methodist Connexion.
(previously MRDF - The Methodist Relief and Development Fund) helps people in some of the world’s poorest communities to become all that they can, by investing in partnerships that
improve quality of life and create positive, long-term change for individuals, families and nations..
The New Room in Bristol is the oldest Methodist Chapel in the world (originally built in 1739) and the cradle of the early Methodist movement. There are regular services and events.
Churches Together in Bath consists of local churches of all Christian traditions in Bath who seek to strengthen their fellowship with one another, and their common mission of service and witness. As Nexus, we are involved in two area - Walcot is in the Central area, Claremont in the North East area. We take part in regular ecumenical services and events.
BathCAN Bath Christian Action Network provides a focus for communications between Christians in Bath and all the communities that Christians are wanting to serve, helping us all keep in touch.
The Ammerdown Retreat & Conference Centre near Radstock is run as an open Christian community dedicated to hospitality, spirituality and growth. It runs a varied programme including painting, literature, quiet days, silent retreats, spiritual journey and inter-faith relations.
